Our History
The Cedarmore Corporation is a community based, non-profit organization founded in 1996 by Bishop Frank O. White. The organization began as a series of summer Basketball Tournaments designed to create a safe haven for Youth, keeping them off the streets and away from the rising gang activity in Freeport and the surrounding communities.
For nearly 18 years, Cedarmore has been active creating an evolving portfolio of programs that focuses on the most relevant issues affecting today’s youth including education, financial literacy, positive self-image, academic achievement and leadership.

1995 Big Brothers Basketball Association established
2001 Afterschool Enrichment Program established
2004 “Ready, Set, kNOw” Program developed under Nassau County Common Sense for the Common Good initiative
2004 Young Entrepreneurs Training Program created
2012 Freeport Farmers’ Market launched
Since its inception, Cedarmore Youth Services has provided a wholesome, structured environment that has enriched the lives of more than 10,000 youth and their families.
